You digg man???

Yeah, I’m diggin diggit. I have joined this strangely fascinating site today.  It is a place where people come together to share websites, blog’s, news, links and content from all over the tinternet.

People who use diggit can vote or ‘digg’ the latest stories to push those up nearer to the top of the page. Obviously – the stories and links at the top of the page get loads of traffic. I have read that you can try and write content that people find really cool in an attempt to get your article to the top, to then benefit from such traffic surges. I may try this one day soon.

Having now recovered from the heat of the last few days, I have returned to my task in hand of joining every social media site I come across. Today I have joined the ranks on LinkedIn. Some interesting LinkedIn facts are – they have 42 million members in over 200 countries. Perhaps I should start a hotlist of social media sites with their associated users base??

It appears that any respectable person who deems themselves important enough within the business world has to have a LinkedIn profile these days. I will have to visit back later and fill in the rather large amount of information the site is asking for.

Referring back to the weather – crikey – it is now pouring it down now.

Myspace and chillaxin

Well – I have had a lovely weekend of sun, beer and chillaxing in the garden. It was way too hot to be geeking it up on the computer. Apparently we have a heat wave on the way – so in case it is too hot to do any more social experiments for a while – I have just bagged myself a Myspace page www.myspace.com/rickcarmony.

Not totally sure what to do with this site yet, but I have been informed that it is used by younger people. I think you can out music and comment and pictures on there and make it all hip and groovy.

Anyway – it the sun has come out again and feel it is time to make a ‘Carmony Carribean Curumba’ – my famous summer cocktail.

Well – things are moving fast today – not only have I built my fantastic new Carmony blog – but I have now also set myself up with a twitter account. Twitter seems to be constantly flashed within the news as ‘the new thing’ – so now is the time to check out what all the fuss is about. It has been a very long time coming, but I have finally figured out how to set myself up with one of these new blog things. Well – I have been informed that these have been around for a while, but I am always about 10 years behind the times.

I have recently purchased a new computer to help me in my quest to be a techno geek and I intend to immerse myself into the dazzling world of the internet.

This blog will follow my exploits into a thing apparently called ’social media’ and will sign up to and join as many social networks as I can find and give feedback right here!
